Let me first give you all a back story on me and Nike Air Max. I am a lover of sneakers of all kinds, not just the hyped ones, I rock anything that is appealing to my eye. From basketball to skateboard  sneakers, if they are dope they are dope no matter the brand. So when these Air Max days became a thing a couple years back I realized that I did not own a single pair of Air Max. How could this be? I loved that shoe and have always been a fan of them. Hell, I used to have a couple pairs in the collection. When a couple of my friends and my wife found out that I didn't own a pair they were just as shocked as I was. Something had to be done about this. LOL! I searched the internet for pairs but at the time I didn't see any that I liked. I was patient and waited until I found a dope pair to cop for a good price. I was happy when I stumbled upon the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse White/Blue that I scored for a great deal. I was all set. Now when Air Max Day (March 26th) rolls around this year I knew what I'd be wearing. Little did I know that my wife was going to iD some awesome Air Max 1s for me and make my decision on what to wear on Air Max day little tougher. 

She knows me so very well. I love sneakers that are simple and classic. And I LOVE LOVE sneakers with Gum bottoms. So when I opened up my gift on the morning of my birthday, I was extremely excited and happy with what I was looking at. All black upper and mid with a gum bottom!!!!! Are you kidding me! And then to top it off she added HILL on one sneaker and MAN on the other. Reading "HILLMAN". This has a double meaning for me, first its a representation of my family name. My last name is Hill as you all know and I'm a man lol. Secondly, its a reference to the name of the college from the 1980s hit show A Different World. 

Lets get to the review of the sneakers. Overall these are super dope. I love the soft tumbled leather that the upper is constructed with. The stitching is perfect, and they are really comfortable. My only issue with these was the sloppy glue work that was used in the production of these. You can see a line of glue where they joined the midsole to the upper of the sneaker. Its pretty disappointing  to know that we spend all this money on these custom sneakers and then we get a product that is less than perfect. When I noticed the glue, my first thought was to send them back. Then I thought about the return process and I just decided to keep them. After all I loved the shoe. I would like to see Nike make sure that their production of these sneakers is up to the same standards that they use to be back in the day. But I know its a long shot and I may be asking a lot but I had to say it. Nike has fallen off when it comes to the quality of some of their sneakers.

All in all I love my birthday gift and I will rock these until they are beat. I will add that this is the second Nike iD that my wife has outdone herself on. She iD'd some Kyrie 1's that are insane. That post will be coming soon now that I spoke about them. LOL
