GoPro once again got my attention with the announcement of not just one new product but THREE NEW products and a new awesome software. Me being the camera and tech guy that I am I was super pumped when I watched the event a couple days ago. I will be getting everything. LOL!

Now lets talk features. The Hero 5 Black is now equipped with three on board microphones allowing you to record stereo sound onboard and are suppose to help with the wind reduction. Hero 5 Black is able to capture video in 4K at 30 frames per second. You can also capture 12mp photos in JPEG & RAW!!!! Hero 5 sports advanced video stabilization, making your footage look as smooth as butter. And last but not least Hero 5 Black is also voice controlled. Making it so easy to get the shots you want hands-free without having to stop and push through features. (Good Call GoPro build team!) The Hero 5 Black will retail for $399 and will release on October 2nd.

Second up is the new Session 5 Black. The Session if you aren't familiar is GoPro's super small cubed  camera that packs all the power of the HERO line but in a smaller more compact form. I won't go on an reitterate the features of the Session 5 Black because it features everything that the Hero 5 Black has. waterproof and super durable out of the box, no need for a housing. It now shoots 4K video and has the awesome advanced video stabilization built in. The only differences with the Session is that it captures photos at 10mp and I don't think the audio is as good as the HERO 5 Black. So no stereo sound! If you want a smaller powerful camera that you can basically put and be more none discreet, the Session 5 Black might be the camera for you. The Session 5 Black will retail for $299 and will release on October 2nd. 

And now we get to my favorite item from the announcement, its GoPro's new drone KARMA! Karma is really more than drone. The best thing about this drone is that its arms fold up making it super compact. Meaning that you don't have to worry about lugging some awkward shaped drone around anymore. The GoPro team was able to achieve this compact design by placing the gimbal on the front of the drone. I think that's genius because though I don't own a drone, I have seen enough drone footage to know that you can sometimes see the blades with certain angles which messes up the beautiful shot you just took. 

If you are one that is afraid to at least try to fly a drone, GoPro is saying that the Karma is super easy to fly. And you can have a friend tag along on the flight in "Passenger Mode" by using their own device. The last thing I will mention about the Karma is that it also comes with a "Karma Grip Ultra" which is a handheld image stabilization stick. LOL! The dope thing about the Grip Ultra is that you can detach the gimbal from the front of your drone and attach it to the Grip Ultra. Giving you two dope products for one. The Karma will retail for $799 and will be releasing on October 23rd. 

GoPro will also be releasing their own cloud based subscription software. GoPro Plus! With GoPro Plus you will be able to access and share your content that you just shot on your GoPro device from wherever you are adventuring. Your footage will be automatically uploaded to the cloud when you are charging your device. And you as a bonus to that you can edit and create awesome videos right there on the app and share it right away.

In closing I think that I am going to purchase the Karma and the Hero 5 Black. I believe they have a package deal that is $1099. Not bad when you compare it to the cost of the DJI Phantom drone. I can not wait to own a drone and I am so glad that I was too broke to buy the Phantom LOL! Good things come to those who wait right?
