Whenever I hear any song from this album, my mind is immediately taken to all the Christmas morning over the years. My parents have been playing this album while we open up our gifts ever since I can remember. This album right here is a perfect timeless Christmas album. It's the perfect soundtrack for Christmas morning. I'm getting excited just thinking about those Christmas morning as a kid. Hearing this album play as we opened our gifts with the logs burning in the fireplace is the perfect Christmas morning to me. Christmas isn't complete for me without hearing this album. I don't have a favorite song because I love the whole thing from beginning to end. Nat! You get 5 stars from me.
Now this album right here almost got that top spot, but Nat's album is just too strong and has to many memories for me. This album so is amazing. I wish that these radio stations would play songs from this album. The weird thing is I cant ever recall hearing any of these tracks played at all on the radio. Maybe its because this album is out of print and a lot of people have never heard of it. It came out in 1989. I remember listening to this on my walkman. (Im dating myself with that one. Lol I had a Fisher Price My first walkman) I think that this was originally my parents tape, but as soon it got into my walkman they never got it back. LOL! I'm a fan of all the songs but my two favorite songs are the first two tracks. 'Christmas Cheer' by the Boys and 'Remember Why It's Christmas' by Joyce Irby There are only 9 tracks on the album but I guarantee that you will have this one on repeat.
I don't even have to write anything about this album right here. Vince Guaraldi created a gem with this album. Everytime you hear any of these songs your mind is immediately taken to a scene form the movie. I love this album! Like the previous two albums this album is timeless. It was recorded in 1965 and is now is the Grammy Hall Of Fame. My favorite track is 'Christmas Time is Here (Instrumental)' followed by 'Greensleeves'
This album was placed on my top Christmas albums list a few years ago. We were out Christmas shopping in Forever 21 for our little sisters and Lou Rawls 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' came on. But this wasn't the original song, this one was remixed and I loved it. So you know I had to get that iphone out and Shazam it. When I got home I got the album immediately and I've played it during Christmas time ever since. I love it because its a break from the traditional Christmas music that we are all use to. Ive blogged about this album last year. The reason I love this album so much is also because it puts you in a chill vibe. The songs are all remixed but not so much that it a far cry from its original version. My favorite track is indeed the Lou Rawls 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' If you were to look at my play count on my itunes it'd probably say over 200 times. I usually listen to this album when I am wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve.
And the last album on my top 5 Christmas albums goes to the O'Jays. As a kid I only loved one song from this album and that was 'I Can Hardly Wait Til Christmas' This song resinated and will resinate with you because its exactly how we all felt as kids. We love all the different times of the year but we couldn't wait til Christmas. "January slow, February Slow, Spring takes too long and summers finally gone" I love this album because I love the way they sing these songs. Such great tones and melody's. I love their version of White Christmas and Have yourself a Merry little Christmas. Here is another timeless Christmas Classic.
I hope that you have enjoyed my Top 5 Christmas albums list. I hope that you will go out and give these albums a listen if you haven'y heard them already. I guarantee that they will be in your Christmas time music rotation.
